We are stoked to announce a fresh track titled, “Hydrate”, originally released with artist collective, Lunch Box.
Former Vancouver based vocalist from Olesya, Aleks Arzhanov, released some new heat under his solo project, ‘Too Much’.
“Hydrate” is a world music future knock fusion banger. Filled with tribal inspired percussion, chunky sub hits, and mind-binding glitches, the track flows through multiple styles and genres. Too Much’s proficient sound design and progressive composition create a riveting tour de force of prog bass music.
We had the pleasure of talking with Aleks in a brief SWS interview regarding his ideas and inspiration for the track.
How long have you been producing music? Choice of DAW?
Been producing for 4 years on the widely known reaper.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music?
Linear thoughtful electronic music.
Do you have any upcoming projects?
I have a couple collabs in the works. I’ve also been making beats for vocalists that I’ve worked with in the past. Really excited for those to finish out.
Talk us through the process, what was the message/feel/emotions you wanted to come across to listeners when you were in the process of producing this banger?
So I started with a line from Jae.Joven that I’ve used in a song before and messed with it beyond recognition. Like with most of my songs, I wanted to make sure both drops were different. So I started with a rough draft of drop 1 and tried to tell as story that tied into drop 2. Definitely went with the tribal dancy vibes for this one. I wanted it to be hard, weird, but also accessible.
Thanks for taking the time to answer, is there anything else you want to include or tell us about?
“If anyone wants to hear more music like Hydrate, check out my sauce EP. I dropped it like 4 months ago and it’s 4 tracks that are all different, but share the same vibe and energy as hydrate. Also everyone needs to start consuming less and vote for some real climate change solutions. We all in here”
