Elliot Boles

Hailing from London, Elliot Boles encompasses his unique sound to bring new life into the underground future beats scene. In a genre where EDM can feel at times monotonous, Elliot’s sound is a refreshingly versatile fusion of jazz, soul, funk, R&B, D&B, and trap. He is a multi-faceted artist, and not afraid to think outside of the box.  Elliot has been playing the piano since the age of 8, and has been producing for over seven years. His music is sure fire to give listeners a ‘feel good’ uplifting effect. Such tracks as, “Feel Me” and “There’s a Wasp in the Kettle”, show off his whimsical, innovative sound. Lately, Elliot has been dabbling in singing and showcasing his own vocal talents, stating, “I’ve felt like I needed to take my music further, as I was struggling to really say anything through instrumentals. It’s become the focus of most of my music these days.” His song titled, “Underwater”, is a poetic, beautiful expression of a different focus for Elliot. There’s no doubt that Elliot will continue to push his innovative sound and soulful harmonies to edm lovers around the globe.

‘Gurio’ highlights Elliot’s creative, funky style with Latin leads and future knock funk. Elliot commented, “I was listening to a ton of Latin jazz and Baile funk at that time, and I thought it would be interesting to fuse those genres and see what happened.” The result is a head nodder. ‘Chameleon’ is a trancey, enticing blend of hypnotic synths and orchestral instrumentation. Elliot stated that he pulled inspiration from Sam Gellaitry’s sound. Guiro is personal fav of Elliot. Peep below:

 

 

Maximus MMC

Flow Fi Record’s very own, Maximus MMC, has been pushing out hits for over 7 years and is an Ableton Vet. Originally from Paris, now residing in Hong Kong, Maximus is an artist on the move. He’s recently finished his first Australian tour with veteran producer Aywy, and shows no signs of slowing down. Maximus prefers not to categorize his sound, and describes his music as a ride, “Allowing the listener to travel to places and become inspired in their daily life.” Maximus does just that. His tunes will take you take you on a journey all over the world with samples of Middle Eastern, Indian instruments and harmonies, as well as, rap infused vocals. This talented producer has a natural propensity for composing seamless build ups and transitions. For future endeavors, Maximus has mentioned that he would like to take advantage of his own vocal abilities and sing on tracks. Whatever style of music Maximus decides on, will surely mean more ‘enticing content for his growing fan base.

‘Switching Lanes’ is a masterpiece of bali style Indian vocals, and hard hitting drops. Maximus and Tilka create suspense and energy with an elongated transition which flows into a head nodding rap verse and smooth bass drop.  For this song Maximus stated that, “The 2nd drop, lyrics were actually recorded by a LA-based rapper called V3RB that was supposed to be on one of the track ‘Sorry’. We thought it wasn’t really suiting the track so we scrapped it and used some parts of his verse for “Switching Lanes”.

 

Maximus took his sneakerhead frustrations of missing out on the new Yeezy’s, and created a smooth hitting banger. This track features’ funky harmonies, eclectic keyboard notes, and heavy snares. ‘Breezin’ is a groovy, well composed track from Paris native, Maximus MMC. When asked about the process of making this tune, Maximus commented, “I had this amazing sample from George Benson that got me inspired and I decided to add a bit of my twist to it. The Loyalist 

Bay area native, Stephen Mealing or “The Loyalist”, utilizes his musical talent to bring a captivating blend of uplifting harmonies and minimalistic bass chords. Stephen, a fan of Mixcraft 7 pr studio, has been producing for 5 years and describes his sound as ‘mostly Lo-Fi Hip-Hop and Future bass.’ True to mass EDM enthusiast’s,

powerhouse DJs Skrillex and House Mafia, have influenced Stephen greatly. Interestingly, Stephen also dabbles in Christian EDM, pulling inspiration from underground producers, Capital Kings and Matthew Parker. Stephen has fascination with nostalgia as an emotion, and expresses that he’s always try to capture that feeling in his writing and music. This is exemplified in his first EP, “Beautiful Imperfection”, which encompasses soft hitting vocals, layered synth notes, and wooden instruments to give it a meditative, dancey atmosphere. Outside of being a producer, Stephen is a novelist and avid thrifter, poppin’ tags. With three EP’s out, and a 2nd future collab with Light-Foot in the works, we can expect more vibe-worthy material from this up and coming creative mind.

‘Midnight Bumpin’ is a real low fi, head nodder. Close your eyes and vibe to the electric guitar melody, harp nuances, and arpeggiated key chords.
