ell!psis drops the title track of his upcoming EP, archon, an icy experimental bass thriller

Rising Chicago-producer, ell!psis, is making his mark on the experimental bass world at break-neck speed. With his recent feature on More Creativity Records, his guest mix on FUXWITHIT, to garnering attention from dark bass kingpins like Tsuruda and Baauer, it’s no surprise that we’re getting treated to a collection of new original tracks. By the sound of it, ell!psis is only just heating up, taking his experimental, hyper-intricate sound to the next level with every new release. The title track for the archon EP just dropped and you can check it out now down below!

I really wanted to make this project a turning point creatively, and to develop confidence at a time when I was really emotionally vulnerable and introspective. It’s been in the works since before COVID, and it’s been a thrill to see it come together.”

                                                           – ell!psis

archon is an expression of controlled chaos, with glassy clashes, mechanical clangs, and absolutely striking slashes of spatial sound design. With a soothing synthy introduction, it plunges you into that cataclysmic experimental noise of ell!psis‘ dark-bass style. Each sputtering synth stab or explosive sample is intricately balanced on a knife’s edge, enveloped in guttural sub-bass and percussive precision.

It’s the precursor to an EP that shows off ell!psis‘ massive production chops, and you can snag a pre-order now on Bandcamp. You’ve also got a chance to grab a unique physical-release USB drive containing the entire EP, sample packs, plus stems for each track! Be sure to be on the lookout for the archon EP, dropping on October 1st!
