New music from New York based producer, Alex Martian ~

Alex Mar has been producing for 4 1/2 years using Logic Pro X to create some insanely unique sounds; experimenting with genres such as chill-hop, bounce, future beats, electro, hip-hop and trap.

“Cathedral” draws in the listener with a nice build up of flute-like synths and a nice low bass leading to an unexpected fire drop filled with instrumentals, bouncy basslines, harmonious chords and slight choppy vox samples. This fresh track is part of an unreleased album that will drop June 28th. We were honored to do a brief interview with Alex in which he gave us some insight as to what he thought/felt during the making of this banger.

Talk us through the process, what was the message/feel/emotions you wanted to come across to listeners when you were in the process of producing this banger?

I worry alot about stuff. I’m also a religious person. Recently, I haven’t been doing well keeping up with my disciplines in regards to my religion. So the fear that I’m losing my faith and relationship with good has been very prevalent within me. I wanted to take that feeling of fear and translate it into a trap, sort of chill, song to say that even though its stressful having to think about it, its not impossible to fix. I wanted to get across that underlying feel of hope within fear, all put together in a nice electronic dance track.”

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music?

“cartoony glitch hop or future bass

Do you have any upcoming projects?

I have an album coming out at the end of this month. It’s my first major project as an artist. (might also have album cover prints coming soon too)
